10 Things to Do in your FIRST Month as a Sales Director:
1)It will take about 5-6 days for the system to realize you are a director. When it does…you will get your unit number and your InTouch will change to look like mine!! Super cool! While you are waiting for your unit number-BOOK YOURSELF SILLY!!!
2)Begin to read through your Action Plan for New Independent Sales Directors that I gave you. It has GREAT information in it even though some of the systems are out of date…you will LOVE the info you glean from the meat of the material.
3)When you get your unit number, you will want to order your Sales Director Suit!! Remember to order it quickly to take advantage of your 20% discount.
4)You will want to register for New Director Education in Dallas as SOON as Possible!! This is invaluable to you and should be considered a mandatory training to be a Sales Director! You won’t want to miss this!!
5)Get to know the New Director Programs!! Click HERE for details! Mary Kay gives you $3000 in bonuses your FIRST year as a director when you complete these challenges and TRUST ME…you don’t want to miss them!! These stay with you FOREVER!! Make sure to print them and carry then with you wherever you go. This is your next BIG goal to reach for!! You want to build to 50 as FAST as possible and take a quick breath and build to 100!! Don’t even slow down until you get to 100 unit members! Then you will be set up for HUGE success for years to come!
6)We will celebrate your promotion at the first Weekly Meeting after you debut!! So make sure to have your entire team and family there for this BIG celebration!!! It’s so special and important!!! You will receive a gift from ME packed with things to help you right away in your new position!! We will plan your BIG UNIT DEBUT PARTY after you finish ON THE MOVE!!! Click HERE to see your NSD, Lisa Allison’s offer to speak at YOUR UNIT DEBUT!
7)Begin to think about and plan for your own unit meeting, however, you and your unit will be with me for a month while you learn the ropes of your new role as a Sales Director and how to lead a meeting. It will be a FUN month for us as we celebrate YOU and enjoy being together a little longer!! I will take this month to train you on the in’s and out’s of conducting a unit meeting so that you FEEL confident when you go out on your own. See your Action Plan for tips on what to consider when looking for a meeting location and planning your meeting.
8)Be sure to be on EVERY Director call with Lisa on Monday Mornings at 9am!! If you work another job and cannot be on the calls live, set a designated time to listen to the playback. These calls are super important!!
9)Get help!! If you don’t already have someone to help with your home and your office – NOW is the time! Mary Kay said, “Don’t spend dollar time on penny jobs.” A good rule of thumb is to have someone help in your office about 1 hour a week for every 10 unit members you have. If your office is TOTALLY unorganized, it may be helpful for you to grab a friend who loves you and take a QUICK day to get it in order so that you can function. But remember – Keep It Simple Sweetie!! See your Action Plan for other tips on finding help in your office.
10)Contact Shani’s Office at shani@shanisoffice.com or via phone at (281)653-8599; and sign up for BombBomb as soon as possible. This V-card service will be a primary means of communicating with your unit, and the best part is…it happens automatically. Also, set up a Facebook page for your unit if you haven’t already. After about the first 5 days of the month I will take your unit members off of my Facebook page so that they will begin getting info only from you. You will remain on my goup, however, so that you can see what I’m doing!! Feel free to copy my posts! Many times you can just copy and paste, and tweak it a bit to look like it came from you! Why create more work for yourself if not necessary, right?! Remember it’s perfectly okay to copycat…as long as you copy the RIGHT CAT!! As Sales Directors we share a LOT of what we do in the Go Give Spirit. There are many times that I use Lisa’s posts and make them look like mine. We LOVE to share!!

*What Can I Get For Free - Click here for a printable version.
*New Consultant Step By Step – I use a 2-pocket folder system I learned from Lisa with a pocket for my “New” unit members and a pocket for my “Hot” unit members.
For my calendar I use Google calendar. This helps me track my activity focusing on: YOU, The NEW & The FEW. I work every month to make sure I have been in front of at LEAST 30 faces (personal + unit) and I track those. We always strive to be a GROWTH unit with 10 or MORE NEW unit members per month!!

Other Meeting Tips:
-Consider hiring a meeting manager to set up and tear down for you. You can pay her by not charging her a weekly fee and always letting her have the maximum # of raffle tickets with a big helping of regular appreciation and PRAISE!!!
-Consider charging a weekly fee to help recoup cost – See your Action Plan for suggestions and things to consider @ charging a fee
-Consider using a Raffle to help offset weekly costs as well.
-Training – Remember this business is 90% attitude & 10% Skill. You can plan your training accordingly. Always remember as well that consultants are basically new until they are Directors so you are basically teaching basic business skills over and over. Feel free to copy the leadership of your NSD and Sr. Sales Director on what train on as well as consult InTouch and your Action plan for suggestions.
-While you are still small in unit size, I highly recommend a live skin care class for training each week, where YOU bring guests!
*Promotions – You can run any promotion u want but remember to always use company promotions 1st because THEY pay for it!! You don’t want to break the bank and go crazy on prizes! Remember one of the most effective prizes is usually free: TIME with YOU!
*Other things to Consider:
-Consider Setting up a private Unit Face book Group
-Consider getting Microsoft Office Publisher
-Consider getting Outlook for your email editor
-Desktop office Manager – You can download from Intouch
-Your first month as a unit I will send all of your people the newsletter with results from the previous month, your last month as a DIQ!! However after that I highly recommend sending your active members a printed unit newsletter!! For years we created mine in my office and it was a headache. I now have a GREAT newsletter designer named Donna @ Director Only Services. You can email Donna at Agnisgooch@comcast.net Just tell her you are my offspring in the Lisa Allison Area. She can design and print your newsletter and even mail it out if you like! She does an AMAZING job and it’s totally worth it!! Lisa uses her too!! You will LOVE Donna!
